Archive for 'Baby on board'
This family has become such cherished friends and I am so pleased to announce the birth of their first son, Luke…

I met the family last October for big sister Ellie’s first birthday portraits. She is such a funny little girl and was quite gentle with her new little brother.

Christine and Rob, we are so happy for you and your new family of four! Now that the baby is here, let’s set up another “Just Dance” dance-off so I can laugh at the guy’s “Beyonce” moves. We are so happy to count you as friends and look forward to watching your sweet children grow.
I photographed Kendra several weeks before her daughter was born and she was very excited to have Kambry out of her belly and into her arms. Well, sweet Kambry is finally here and of course, much loved by her family.
She slept almost the entire session and was so easy to work with.
We are so excited to watch her grow and I can’t wait to photograph this sweet and mellow girl again!
Welcome to the world Kambry, prepare to be enchanted!
Kendra is expecting her third child, a girl, near the end of the month. We have had the pleasure of getting to know her and her enchanting family over the past month and I can only say I can’t wait to get to know them even better. They are uber-fun to be around and easy going and it is always a big plus when new friends will play super geeky games like Carcassone with us.

We picked one of the less frigid days of the week for a mini-session. I say mini because it was cold, there were no outfit changes and we needed to get home quickly as her husband was recovering from surgery and we left him with their two children (nothing he totally couldn’t handle). I’m glad we did it but I definitely would have loved more time with her! I guess I will happily make up for it at her daughter’s newborn session.
Kendra, I had such a good time with you and we all can’t wait to meet Kambry!
Landry had been enjoying life a month outside the womb when Her mom, Kenna, set up her session. We did a second session 5 days later and she had already changed noticeably. Babies loose their “newborness” pretty quickly, so it is ultra important to get a session as soon as you feel able. Within the first two weeks is ideal.
Now it has been quite awhile since I shot a newborn session and I really enjoy the challenge that this type of session offers. We spent several hours working with Landry and it was well worth the effort…
I knew I loved Kenna when she reacted with a fist pump to the air when I asked if her and Bob were interested in seeing Clash of the Titans with us several months ago. Seriously, she is that cool.

Bob is now the proud Papa of three beautiful girls.

I just couldn’t decide which was my favorite of the next two, which is yours?
Little Landry gave me total baby fever! What a sweet girl and an awesome family. Kenna and Bob thanks for your easy going and mellow attitudes you all were such a pleasure to work with! I am very much looking forward to your next session and getting to you know you all better!
While dealing with insomnia and blog-hopping one night, I came across the Family blog of Luke and Cassie. I was immediately smitten and wanted BADLY to take maternity pictures of Cassie who was in her third pregnancy. I left a blog comment offering her a session and went on to the next blog not expecting to hear back. I was very surprised when she not only wrote back but also agreed to the session! Honestly, If that had happened to me I don’t think I would have trusted the wacko leaving random comments on my blog (not that I am a wacko, other people are wackos).
This was such a great and mellow family. The children greeted me at the door and at once begin to tell me all about themselves and show me around. Although Cassies pregnancy was the focus for the session I had to grab a couple pictures of her super sweet daughter and son.
There was also major drama when a spider skittered across the floor. I think some kind of record was reached at the ear-piercing screeches that ensued. Luke showed up just in time to save the day and prove that Daddy-Long-Legs are not so bad after all…
See, proof that it was a maternity session. Maybe I got sidetracked with cute kids. Normal for me.
Here I am being sidetracked once again. Really, this family was so gracious to let me hi-jack their Saturday afternoon (and evening)…
Later in the evening after it cooled off a bit, Cassie met me at the uber-awesome location she picked out. Mandie came along and we had a very windy mini-session.

Cassie! Thank you so much for letting me take pictures of you and your sweet family. You all were so fun to work with and I appreciate you letting me into your home and giving me so much of your time! Congratulations on baby Michael and I hope that my camera and I can be sidetracked by him in the near future!
Oh the grand posts that are in my mind for this blog. Really, I have all sorts of fun things planned. Finding the time to think them up is easier then finding the time to sit down and make them happen! We are off for our annual camping trip. I will be quite happy without my laptop, computer, cell phone, and all other modern technology (OK, well I will have my camera). Instead I will have books, books and more books. The amount of books I have packed is actually quite silly but shows that I do have a bit of an optimist in me. When I get back I have some Etsy vendors to showcase, weddings to post, and the rest from this delightful session…
Yes, pregnancy suits Cassie, although at this moment she is enjoying her newborn son. I have plenty more pictures of her and her sweet family to come.
Now, I am off to lay in a hammock and enjoy my books.
