Our tree is up and for the most part decorated, despite it’s attempted escape of launching itself off of the top of our car on the way home. I think the Christmas tree guy must have tied it down with dental floss. Seriously, I was not going that fast, no matter what my dear Husband says!
Tom, Kelly, and their two girls traveled from Austin over the holidays to visit friends, and I am so glad they did!
What a great family!
These are the type of people that you fall in love with instantly. Really, I wanted to pack them up and take them home with me! Not only were they an awesome family, but they were also the perfect clients. So easy going and real. Not once did they utter the word “Cheese”, or “sit up straight” to their girls, which really helps in keeping happy-relaxed kids, and that equals happy-relaxed pictures. Yeah for happy and relaxed!
Bella loved the cats, and although there are bunches of them, she knew each by name. They seemed quite fond of her also…
And little Francesca seemed quite content with some stuffed animals…
Kelly asked for pics with her and her sweet daughters.
There was one troubling thing about this session. Maybe not so much troubling as eye-opening. While going through the images I realized I didn’t have any of Tom with the girls. That got me to thinking about past family sessions and how I normally focus on the Mom and kids. Now, in my defense it is usually the Mom who initiates the session an asks for the images. But still the poor Dads!! It is now my mission to have lots of great shots, of the Dads, in future sessions (Dad’s be warned)!
Tom and Kelly! Thanks so much for such a fun and encouraging session. You all were a blast!
This is such a great family, you can see them here, here, and here. But those pictures are missing the newest addition to the family, Paulie Jake. I love, LOVE, that they had another baby after everyone else assumed they were done. Yeah for babies!

My almost three year old still doesn’t have this much hair!
And isn’t Kristen just smokin’?!
Sarah, Jake, Paulie J, and Hannah (and Bill, who showed up one day, and decided to stay).

Don’t call him P.J., or people will get mad.
I could wax poetic about them for some time. They are truly special people (who read the books I recommend, and recommend books right back to me) and I am always looking for some excuse to stop by their wonderful farm (ummm, I think I might be running low on sugar). We share the same taste in movies, TV, music, and books (for the most part. Kristen tends to like depressing, just-kill-me-now books and I still haven’t forgiven Paul for that book about the alien who likes to eat cars). We joke about moving into a commune together but I think if they knew how serious I was about it they would be careful what they say!! Zim’s, what can I say? My family loves the heck out of your family!
I met Shelley and Libby briefly at my Church’s fall festival and I am so glad I did!
Not only is Shelley super nice and pleasant to be around but so is her two year old daughter, Libby.
Really they couldn’t have made this session any easier on me!!

Shelley, thanks so much for giving me the chance to work with you and your daughter! It was such a pleasure to get to know you both!
